The segment also distributes beverages, tobacco, health and beauty care products, and pharmacy supplies. Beyond product supply, this division also provides various value-added services to its retail partners. Through its Military segment, SpartanNash is responsible for the provision and distribution of groceries to 160 military commissaries and roughly 400 exchange stores. This segment boasts an international footprint, serving locations across 39 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and overseas territories such as Europe, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Honduras, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Djibouti. The company's Retail segment oversees a portfolio of 145 corporate-owned grocery stores and 36 integrated fuel centers. These retail outlets operate under several recognized banners, including Family Fare, Martin's Super Markets, D&W Fresh Market, VG's Grocery, and Dan's Supermarket. In addition, SpartanNash Company develops and markets its own private label product lines, most notably under the "Our Family" brand name. Founded in 1917, the company initially traded as Spartan Stores, Inc. before rebranding to SpartanNash Company in November 2013. Its corporate headquarters are located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
