Largest Companies: pure size, nothing else
Market cap decides everything here. This ranking sorts stocks by one number, share price multiplied by shares outstanding, and nothing about quality, growth, or risk factors in.
Size alone doesn't say much about the business behind it. A company can carry a stretched balance sheet or a fading growth story and still sit near the top if the market values it highly enough. The number itself updates with every trading session, since it moves whenever the share price does.
Size splits into different questions. Highest Revenue Companies ranks by sales instead of market value, Largest Employers counts people rather than dollars, and the three lists rarely agree on an order. For a read on whether the biggest names are also the strongest, see Best Rated Stocks.
This suits anyone who wants the biggest names in the market, full stop: building a mega-cap watchlist, benchmarking a portfolio against the market's heavyweights, or just seeing who currently sits at the top. For a read on whether any of them are actually worth owning, check the stock's own page or the Stoxcraft Screener.
