Highest Revenue: who sells the most, not who earns the most
Revenue and profit are not the same number, and this list only cares about the first one. It ranks companies purely by total sales over the last twelve months.
A company can post enormous revenue and still run on thin margins or heavy debt. Retailers and distributors often do. The ranking says nothing about what's left after costs, that's a separate question with its own leaderboard here.
What happens after the top line has its own leaderboards. Highest Profit Margin Stocks ranks how much of each sales dollar survives, Most Free Cash Flow Stocks ranks the cash that actually ends up free to use, and Largest Companies by Market Cap ranks by market value instead of sales. For the other direction entirely, Fastest Growing Companies ranks by how quickly that top line is expanding rather than how big it already is.
This suits anyone mapping out the biggest operators in the economy by sheer sales volume, not by how efficiently they turn that volume into profit. Pair it with the profit margin and free cash flow rankings before drawing conclusions about quality.
