Best Sectors: the leaderboard for entire industries

Eleven sectors, one leaderboard. Instead of ranking individual companies, this page compares Energy against Financial Services against Technology and every other sector, using the same measures we apply to single stocks.

The read blends the same three pillars as the Overall Rating: how strong the sector's balance sheets are on average, how well its stocks have actually performed, and how much risk sits underneath the returns. A sector full of financially strong companies that never move won't rank well here, and neither will one running hot on shaky fundamentals. Full breakdown of how the score comes together lives on the Stoxcraft Formula page.

Each pillar also gets its own sector leaderboard. Best Sectors by Health Score for financial strength, Sector Performance for return, Recession Proof Sectors for the calmest, Sector Rotation for momentum, and Best Sectors by Entry Setup for timing. One layer down, Best Rated Stocks runs the same idea on individual companies.

Use this as the zoomed-out view before you zoom in. It's built for deciding which corner of the market deserves attention first, not for picking a stock. Once a sector stands out, its own ranking and the Stoxcraft Screener are where you find out which companies inside it are actually carrying the weight.

Frequently asked questions

Sectors are ranked by the same Overall Rating used for individual stocks, aggregating Health, Performance and Risk for every company in that sector into one score.

The ranking updates daily and shows each sector's movement versus the previous ranking period in the Change column.

This page shows a ready-made sector leaderboard with rank movement over time. The Stoxcraft Screener works at the individual stock level, so use it once you've picked a sector to look inside it.

The same three pillars as for stocks: Health, Performance and Risk, rolled up across every company in the sector. A sector needs to hold up across all three to rank well, not just win on one.
